Picture for the oficial poster of Jayro Bustamante’s film “La Llorona”
In 2019, Jayro Bustamante asked me to take pictures for a new film project that he had in mind. I accepted immediately and joined the team as I admire Jayro’s work and film making is one of my favorite artistic disciplines along with music. In a first session I took “still photos” with the entire cast that would be used to seek support for the project, and then in a second session I did the shots to create the photo that would go on the official poster to represent the future film. When I was working, I remembered and took inspiration from a scene of the film Orpheus by Jean Cocteau, where Orpheus (Jean Marais) passes through a water mirror. Now when I see the selected photograph, I think of a painting of dead Ophelia, represented by countless artists. In any case the result fascinates me.

En 2018, Jayro Bustamante me pidió hacer fotografías para el proyecto de una nueva película que tenia en mente. Acepté de inmediato y me sumé al equipo ya que admiro el trabajo de Jayro y el cine es una de mis disciplinas artísticas favoritas, junto con la música. En una primera sesión realizé “fotos fijas” con todo el elenco. Estas serían utilizadas para buscar apoyo para el proyecto. Luego en una segunda hice tomas para crear la foto que iría en el afiche oficial y representaría a la futura película. Al estar trabajando, recordé y tomé inspiración de una escena de la película Orfeo de Jean Cocteau, donde Orfeo (Jean Marais) atraviesa un espejo de agua. Ahora cuando veo la fotografía seleccionada, pienso también en una pintura de Ofelia muerta, representada por innumerables artistas. En todo caso el resultado me fascina.
